I’m Char and I am Founder of Duxmore Botanics. I am a farmer’s wife and a busy mum to three beautiful children. Based on the chalk downland of the Isle of Wight, our farm is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with breath-taking views of both the sea and rolling hills. Our home provides a constant source of inspiration and gratitude. It is a beautiful place for our children to grow up and, in the busy seasons, it is all hands-on-deck.
As an Aromatherapist, Cosmetic Scientist and Holistic Massage Therapist, I love combining all of these principles to develop great products that really work.
Feeling grateful for my experience and education at Britain’s leading botanical skincare brand, I spent 13 years working alongside some of the best industry experts and being part of the special journey that saw the brand go from a small Island business into the leading brand they are today.
In 2019 I took the leap to become self-employed, launching Duxmore Botanics, creating products that we can all enjoy, delivering great results with an aromatherapy influence. Starting out in our farm kitchen back then, with a simple Baine Marie, we now have a dedicated HQ on the farm – and the equipment has grown somewhat too!
At Duxmore Botanics, we pride ourselves on delivering a personal first-class service and high-quality products, using ethically and responsibly sourced ingredients. We work with trusted ingredient suppliers and work with fellow Island-based businesses too. We love to focus on the detail, from bespoke hampers to hand-written cards, we like to maintain a human-touch in this fast-paced world.
Our home-fragrance collection is designed to deliver an aromatherapeutic, well-being boost, whenever you need it. Whether that is a scent to make you smile, a scent to comfort or one to help you feel grounded – sometimes we just need to take a breath and take a moment to breathe in a soothing scent. Through our candles, reed diffusers, room sprays or essential oil blends; each fragrance blend is carefully curated and hand-crafted in-house, using pure essential oils.
When it comes to our skincare, we believe in responsible beauty, not only when sourcing ingredients, but when marketing our range too. It’s about looking after and enjoying the skin we are in. We carefully select our ingredients for their unique benefits on the skin, helping to deliver visible results. We love creating products that you can incorporate into your daily routine and that make you feel good. Indulgent treats to give you that five minutes of calm in a busy day, or just taking that extra time to massage your favourite product into your skin, giving you a radiant-looking glow.
